Shiv Cotton Waste

Shiv Cotton Waste is found at No. 253/13 in the Gidc Makarpura area. If you come by, you’ll see white cotton fluff floating in the air like it’s snowing indoors. It gets on your hair and your clothes, and no matter how much you brush it off, some of it always stays. The machines here are used for processing the waste cotton into bales. It’s a very noisy process, so we don't do much talking while the equipment is on. Makarpura Gidc is a huge place, and our little section is always bustling with activity. We have a lot of bags piled up against the walls, waiting to be sorted or packed. The floor is made of rough concrete, and we have to be careful not to slip on the smooth cotton fibers. We don’t have a fancy showroom or anything like that. People just come to the gate if they want to talk to us. We’ve got a small area where we keep our tools and another where we sit for our tea breaks. It’s a very basic setup, but it works for what we do. The work is repetitive, but there is something satisfying about seeing the big bales of cotton ready to go out. We just show up every morning, do the work, and keep the machines running until it’s time to go.
