Our place is called Royal Steel and you can find us at Plot No. 861/1/2/3 in the Gidc. Estate. It’s a bit of a long address because we take up several sections of the plot there. Having all that space at 861/1/2/3 is necessary because steel takes up a lot of room. It’s heavy and hard to move around, so we need the wide doors and the high ceilings we have here. The Gidc. Estate is always humming with some kind of activity. You can hear the sounds of other shops nearby, but we mostly focus on what’s happening inside Royal Steel. The floor is mostly dark from years of moving things around. We have some overhead lights that flicker a bit if you turn them all on at once, so we usually just use the ones we need. It’s a practical setup. We don’t have a big sign, just a small one near the entrance so people know they’re at the right spot. The coffee machine in the corner is probably the most used thing here besides the tools. We spend most of our week at Plot No. 861/1/2/3. It's not a glamorous job, but it's what we do. When the rain comes, it makes a lot of noise on the metal roof, making it hard to hear each other talk. We just wait it out and keep working until it stops.
