Patel Roadways

Our office is over at Plot No. 200 in the GIDC Industrial Estate. It’s a busy spot with trucks coming and going at all hours of the day. Usually, there’s a thick stack of delivery papers on the main desk and someone is always on the phone checking where a driver has reached. We’ve been at this GIDC location for a good while now. The yard gets pretty dusty when the wind picks up, but it’s a good, solid space for the heavy vehicles. We don’t have any of those shiny glass walls or air-conditioned lobbies you see in city offices. It’s just a plain brick building where we handle all the logistics work. My brother and I usually handle the morning shift together. We make sure the tires are checked and the fuel is topped off before anyone heads out on the road. It’s a lot of coordination to keep things moving. Sometimes a truck breaks down in the middle of nowhere and we all have to scramble to get a mechanic out there. That’s just part of the transport life, I guess. We have a small corner in the back where we keep the spare parts and some old wooden crates. It’s not much to look at, but it works for what we do. We know most of the other business owners around here in the estate and often share a tea. It’s a straightforward business. We just try to get things from one place to another.
