Mahendra Steel Industries

Our factory, Mahendra Steel Industries, is tucked away in the Everest Industrial Compound on Yamuna Mill Road. We are at unit number 3, right in the heart of Pratapnagar. If you come by to visit, you’ll probably hear the noise of the shop floor before you actually see the sign. Steel work is noisy, dusty, and hot, but that is just the reality of the trade we chose. We’ve been in this compound for years, and we have seen a lot of other businesses come and go. We stayed because we like the grit of this area and it suits our work. The office is just a small room partitioned off from the main workshop floor so we can hear ourselves think when the machines are running. It’s usually covered in a thin layer of dust no matter how much we clean it every morning. We don't use a lot of fancy words to describe what we do. We take steel and we make things out of it for our customers. It takes a lot of hard work and long hours standing on the shop floor. Our workers are local guys who know their way around the machinery. We don't have a website with stock photos of people in suits. We just have our machines and our hands. Sometimes the power goes out or a machine breaks down, and we just deal with it. It’s a tough business, but it’s what we know.
