K.C. Mehta & Co. is located at B/13, Swati Society No.1 in Manjalpur. We are right near the Mangleshwar Temple, so we often hear the bells during the day. It’s a nice part of Baroda to be in. The office is basically a converted space that fits all our desks and filing systems. We have been at this address for years, and it’s become our second home. Most mornings start with sorting through the mail and planning out which client’s books need the most attention. Being a CA means you are always surrounded by numbers and deadlines. We have a small team, and we all know each other’s habits by now. The atmosphere is generally quiet because everyone is focused on their screens or some thick stack of documents. We don’t go for any of that modern office decor; it’s just functional stuff that helps us get through the day. Sometimes a client will stay for a long chat about their business, and other times they just drop off their papers and leave. The heat in Baroda can be a lot during the summer, so the AC is usually working overtime. We keep the tea kettle going because that’s what keeps us moving during the long afternoons. It’s a simple, honest way to make a living, and we’re happy to be part of the Swati Society community. It’s just us doing what we know how to do best. We like the local vibe here.
