Jay Manek Steels is tucked away in Pratap Nagar, right behind Zenith School on Godi Road. It’s a place where we deal with a lot of heavy material, so things can get a bit messy with the steel lying around. The school being so close means we hear the bell ring every now and then, which helps us keep track of time during the day. We are mostly focused on the physical side of the steel business, so you won’t find any polished floors or air-conditioned lobbies here. It’s more about the crane working and the sound of metal hitting metal. We handle the loading and unloading ourselves, and sometimes the yard feels a bit cramped when a big shipment arrives. Pratap Nagar is a good spot for us because we are close to the main routes, but tucked back enough that we aren't in everyone’s way. Our staff is just a few guys who have been doing this for years, and we don't feel the need to dress up or act like we are in a high-rise office. We know our way around the different types of steel, and we just give people the facts about what we have in stock. It’s honest work, and we don’t try to make it sound like anything more than it is. Most of our customers are locals who just need something specific for a project they are working on.
