Het Provision Store

Het Provision Store is found near Gotri Lake in Vadodara. We are tucked away just behind the Motor School, which makes it a fairly easy place to find for most people living in this neighborhood. The shop itself is small and packed full of the various things that families need for their daily meals. We have stacks of grain bags, oil tins, and snacks crowded onto the shelves. Sometimes the space feels a bit tight when we have more than a couple of customers inside at once. The area around Gotri Lake is usually quite nice, although the road can get very dusty when it’s dry outside. We open the store pretty early to make sure we are there for the morning shoppers. Most of what we carry is just basic everyday items. We don't have any of those big marketing posters or fancy signs. Being in the 390001 zip code area, we see the same familiar faces every single day. It’s not like those big supermarkets you see in the malls; it is just a simple room with a wooden counter and a few fans to keep the air moving. Sometimes the fans are a bit noisy, but we are used to it. We handle all the work ourselves, including moving the heavy stock around. It is a lot of effort every day, but it’s how we keep the business going behind the Motor School.
