You can find us on the Baroda-Padra Highway in an area known as Ceramic Nagar. We are specifically in O Samyala, right on the Baroda Jambusar Road. Being out on the highway means we see a lot of long-distance trucks and dust from the road. The air around here usually has a bit of a dry, earthy smell because of all the ceramic work going on in the neighborhood. Our facility is a mix of glass and ceramic production. It’s a hot environment because of the heat needed for the materials, so we always have the big fans running. The floors are often dusty with white powder from the clay or tiny bits of glass. We wear boots and thick gloves most of the day for safety. It’s a big space but it’s filled up with racks and raw materials. Samyala is a bit far from the main city, so it feels more like its own little world out here. We have a small shed where we keep our lunch tins and take breaks when the heat gets to be too much. The highway is always humming with noise, which becomes a background sound after a while. We don't have much in the way of decoration; the machines and the products are everything. Working with glass and ceramics is tough on the body, but we’ve been doing it a long time.
