Essar Steel Ltd. Hazira

Down here in Anupamnagar, right across from the Railway Colony in Pratapnagar, is where we handle things. It’s a part of Baroda that has a lot of history with the railway being so close. We are an outpost for the Hazira operations of Essar Steel. Being near the tracks means we hear the trains going by all day and night. You get used to the vibration after a while, it just becomes part of the background. The office itself is pretty basic, just enough room for our computers and a few chairs for visitors. We don’t get many people walking in off the street, it’s mostly scheduled meetings or staff coming through. The pin code here is 390004, and it’s a busy little pocket of the city. We try to keep the place tidy, but with the dust from the road and the trains, it’s a constant battle. We have a small window that looks out towards the colony, and sometimes we see the kids playing over there. It’s a very local feel, not at all like those big glass buildings you see in the city center. We handle our paperwork, make our calls, and try to keep everything on schedule. It’s a lot of routine, but we don't mind it. Everyone knows their job and we just get on with it without making a fuss. It is a simple life for us here.
