We are located out in the Makarpura Industrial Estate. It’s a busy part of town with a lot of trucks and noise all day long. Our building is right on Erda Road, which is actually quite handy since the road shares the name with us. People have been coming here for a long time for various testing needs. It’s more of a lab and testing environment than a regular office with carpets. You’ll see a lot of heavy equipment and people in white coats or blue overalls depending on what is being worked on that day. The air always smells a bit like machinery and ozone. We have several sections for different kinds of research and development. It's a big area, so you have to walk quite a bit to get from one side of the facility to the other. The canteen is where most of us catch up during the afternoon break over some tea. It’s not the quietest place, but it’s where the actual work happens. The trees around the estate give a little bit of shade, which is nice when it gets really hot in the summer months. We’ve got a lot of old equipment mixed in with the newer stuff we've brought in. It’s been around for years, so there’s a lot of history in these walls. Most of the staff have been here for decades, so they know every corner of the site. It’s a bit dusty because of the industrial zone, but we try to keep the labs clean.
