D J Enterprises is located right at Patthar Gate in Balewadi. If you are looking for the office, you just have to find the Singer showroom because we are located directly above it. It’s a handy landmark since most people in the neighborhood know where that shop is. The stairs leading up are a bit steep and the paint is peeling in a few spots, but it gets you where you need to go. Being above a showroom means there’s always a bit of noise from the customers downstairs and the traffic outside on the main road. Patthar Gate is usually quite a lively area, so there is always something to look at out the window if you need a break from the paperwork. The office itself is pretty basic. We have some old wooden desks and a couple of filing cabinets that have been with us since we started out. It’s not a fancy setup, but it’s enough for what we do every day. We don't have a receptionist or anything like that, so you usually just walk in and find one of us working. The tea stall at the corner is where we get our morning fix, and that’s pretty much the highlight of the early hours. It gets a bit hot in the afternoons when the sun hits the front of the building, but we just turn the fans up and keep on going. It’s a simple, honest way to spend the day for all of us.
