Balaji Steel & Tubes

You can find us over at the Basant Engineering Compound in Pratap Nagar. We are right opposite the Esi Hospital, which is a big landmark on Dabhoi Road. Balaji Steel & Tubes is what we call ourselves, and we’ve been operating out of this compound for quite a while. The space is a bit cramped sometimes because of all the tubes and steel sections we keep in stock. We don't have a fancy office with air conditioning; it's mostly just a fan and some chairs for when people come by to talk about their requirements. The compound itself has other businesses too, so there is always someone moving something or a truck blocking the driveway. It gets a bit chaotic around noon when the sun is high and everyone is trying to get their deliveries out. We spend a lot of time measuring things out and making sure the cuts are okay. The walls could use a fresh coat of paint, but we haven't really gotten around to it yet. Work starts early and we usually wrap up when the sun goes down. It’s a simple life of handling steel. We don't try to be anything we aren't. We just focus on the inventory we have and making sure the gate is locked at night. The hospital across the street is always busy, so there’s a lot of activity outside our doors.
