Amar Engineering

The workshop is located at 910/4C in the Makarpura GIDC area. Being opposite Diamond Park makes it easier for people to find us among all these industrial buildings. Amar Engineering isn't a massive factory, just a solid space where we handle metal work and repairs. The floor is concrete and always has some oil stains or metal shavings on it no matter how much we sweep. We have a few lathes and a welding machine that’s been with us since the start. It’s noisy during the day with the grinding and the trucks passing by outside. Most of our work comes from other businesses in the estate who need parts fixed or small batches of things made. I usually wear my blue overalls all day because it gets dirty fast. My desk is tucked in a corner under a bright lamp where I look at drawings and figures. We don't have a receptionist, so if the phone rings, whoever is closest to the office picks it up. Lunch is usually eaten together on the wooden bench outside when the weather is nice. We’ve had the same group of guys working here for years now, so we know how each other works without having to say much. The gate gets a bit rusty in the monsoon, so we have to oil it often. It's honest work and we stay busy enough to keep the lights on and the machines running.
