Aarti Steel Enterprise

We are out at Plot No. 986/9 in the G.I.D.C. Estate, specifically the Diamond Park area of Makarpura. It’s an industrial zone, so there’s always the sound of trucks and machinery in the air. Aarti Steel Enterprise has been sitting on this plot for quite a while. The building isn’t new, but it’s solid and does what we need it to do. We spend our days surrounded by metal and the tools we use to work it. It’s a big open space with high ceilings that catch the heat in the summer. We don’t have fancy air conditioning in the main work area, just some big fans that move the air around. Our small office in the corner is where the paperwork gets handled, but most of the time is spent out on the floor. It’s a dusty place, and your hands never stay clean for long. We don’t mind that. It’s the kind of work where you can see what you’ve accomplished by the end of the shift. We usually have a tea break in the afternoon when the sun is at its highest. It’s a chance to sit down and talk about things other than steel for a few minutes. Then it’s back to it until the sun starts to go down. We’ve been part of this industrial estate for years, and we’ve seen shops come and go, but we’re still here doing our thing.
