Anandan

We’re based out in Dakshin Dinajpur, right at the spot they call Sare Tin No. More in Biswaspara. It’s a local neighborhood where everyone pretty much knows everyone else’s business. Anandan is a small name here, and we don’t have a big storefront with neon lights. It’s a simple building that fits in with the rest of the street. Being at the "More" means we see a lot of people passing by on their way to other parts of the district. The pace of life here is a bit slower than in the big cities, and we like it that way. We spend a lot of time just talking to the people who stop in. There isn’t a lot of high-tech equipment in our office; it’s mostly just basic stuff we’ve used for years. In the rainy season, the road outside can get a bit muddy, but that’s just how it is in this part of the country. We don’t have set hours that are strictly followed; we open up when we get there and stay until the work is finished. It’s just one of those local places that has been part of the landscape for a while. We don't try to be something we're not. We just do our thing in Biswaspara and try to keep things running smoothly without making too much of a fuss about it. There's usually a stray dog sleeping near the entrance in the afternoons.
