Sadharan Kisan Producer Company Limited is located in Gram-Kailash Kheda, which is part of Gaura in the Sumerpur area of Bighapur. We operate out of a place care of Dileep Kumar in Unnao. It’s a rural area, so we are right in the thick of things when it comes to farming. Most of the people involved here are just regular farmers from the neighborhood. We started this company because we thought it would be better to work together rather than trying to do everything on our own. It’s not a polished business. Our meetings usually happen in a small room or sometimes just outside if the weather is nice. We talk about what’s growing well and what problems we are having with the soil or the pests. Unnao is a big place, but around Kailash Kheda, everyone knows each other. We don't have a big marketing budget or any fancy brochures. We just do the work and try to get a fair price for what we produce. It’s hard work and the sun can be brutal out here. Sometimes we disagree on how things should be run, but we always find a way to work it out. We’re just local people trying to make a living from the land. There’s a lot of mud in the rainy season and it gets incredibly hot in the summer, but that’s just how life is here. We aren’t trying to be anything fancy, just a group doing our best.
