Bhikharipur Farmer Producer Company Limited

We set up this company at Hori Lal’s house in Bhikharipurpatasiya. It’s house number one, so it’s easy to find if you’re in the Ganjmorabad area of Unnao. We are a group of farmers who finally decided to pool our resources. It was a bit of a struggle to get everyone to agree at the start. Everyone has their own way of doing things and farmers can be stubborn. But we realized that if we buy our supplies together, it costs a lot less. So here we are. This isn't a corporate office with air conditioning and fancy chairs. We mostly sit out on the porch and discuss our plans. We deal with whatever crops are in season at the time. Right now, there is a lot to keep us busy. The roads in this part of Unnao can get really messy when it rains, so that’s always a problem for us. We don't have a marketing team or people to write fancy brochures. We just know our land and our crops. If a member of the group has a problem, we all try to help them sort it out. It’s really about keeping our small community going. We focus on the day-to-day chores and making sure the harvest gets moved to the right place. It’s hard work and it’s not always pretty, but it’s our life. We just do our best every day.
