Wonder Cement

We are based over at No. 17 Old Fatehpura. It’s a familiar spot if you know the Seva Mandir area. Most of our day is spent around piles of cement bags. It’s a lot of heavy lifting and the air always has that bit of grey dust hanging in it. You get used to it after a week or two. The shop isn't much to look at, just a practical space where we keep the stock and wait for the trucks. When a delivery arrives, it’s all hands on deck to get the bags moved. We have a small desk where we keep the ledger and handle the customers who walk in. Most of the people we see are local builders or guys just trying to fix up a wall at home. It gets quite warm in the afternoons, so we usually have a fan going that makes a lot of noise. We aren't trying to be anything fancy here. It’s just about getting the cement out to the people who need it for their projects. Sometimes we sit outside on the stools when it’s quiet and just watch the traffic go by towards the Mandir. It’s a steady kind of life, focused on the inventory and making sure the numbers add up at the end of the day. We’ve been here a long time and the neighbors know us well.
