Nayee Haveli

We are located at number 55, right near Gangaur Ghat in Udaipur. If you’ve been to the old city, you know how narrow the lanes are and how many people are always walking down to the water. Our place is an old building, one of those havelis that has been around longer than any of us. It has thick walls and small windows, which helps a bit with the Rajasthan sun. Living and working in Udaipur Ho means dealing with a lot of noise from the bikes and the tourists, but Gangaur Ghat has a special feel to it in the evenings. We try to keep the place looking decent, but it’s an old structure, so there is always something that needs fixing, like a leaky pipe or a creaky door. We don't have a big corporate office; we just run everything from the front desk. The kitchen is tucked away in the back. Most of the time, we are busy talking to people who wandered in after seeing the lake. It gets really crowded during festivals, and sometimes we have to tell people there’s a wait. We aren't trying to be the fanciest place in town, just a spot where you can sit down for a bit. It’s a family-run kind of thing, so you might see us arguing about the menu or the seating now and then.
