Mani Balaji Art And Crafts is located over at 328 Charak Marg. We are part of the Ambamata Scheme area, which is a fairly well-known part of town. It is usually pretty quiet around here compared to the main markets. Our space is filled with all sorts of things we are working on. We have been at this address for some time. Charak Marg has a specific feel to it, and we fit right in with the other shops. The walls inside are usually covered in whatever projects are going on at the moment. It is a lot of manual work. We spend most of the day handling tools and materials. It is not a shiny showroom. It is more of a workshop where stuff actually gets made. If you walk down the street, you can usually see us through the door. Sometimes the dust gets everywhere but that is just part of doing art and crafts work. We have our routines, like getting tea from the stall nearby in the afternoons. The Ambamata area has good people. We have grown used to the neighbors and the way the light hits the street in the evening. It is a simple setup at 328. We do not have a big staff, just a few of us who know where everything is kept. Finding things in the back can be a challenge if you are not used to it. We just keep doing what we do.
