Mewar Sarees

Our shop is at number 149 in Bada Bazar. If you know the bazar, you know it's always a mess of people and carts. We’ve been in this spot for years. The walls are lined with boxes from floor to ceiling. Sometimes it feels like the boxes might fall over, but they never do. Mewar Sarees is just a place where we keep a lot of different styles. We don't really do the big fancy displays you see in the city malls. We just have the sarees stacked up. When someone comes in, we start pulling them down one by one. It makes a mess on the counter, but that's how people like to shop. They want to touch the fabric and see how it hangs. The lighting isn't the best, especially in the back corners, but we have a few torches if we need to find something specific. My brother and I run the place. We argue sometimes about where things should go, but we get it done. The tea here is always good because the stall next door knows exactly how we like it. Bada Bazar is a tough place to work because it’s so loud, but you get used to it. We just open the shutters in the morning and wait to see who walks in. It’s a living, and we’re glad to have the shop here.
