The Raj Shop

The Raj Shop is located at number 13 in Bapu Bazar. We are right across from Saree Niketan and very close to the DCM shop. If you’ve walked through Bapu Bazar, you know how busy it gets with shoppers and tourists. Our shop is right in the middle of all that action. We spend our days mostly on our feet, talking to people and showing them what we have on the racks. The space is a bit cramped because we try to fit a lot of variety into a small area. It can get pretty crowded inside on the weekends. We have big glass windows in the front, but we usually have them covered with some of our stock. The floor is tile and it’s seen a lot of wear over the years. We keep a small fan behind the counter to stay cool when the bazaar gets hot. There is always someone coming or going, and we rarely have a quiet moment until the market closes at night. We don’t bother with much marketing because being in this location means people find us naturally. We focus on keeping the shelves full and the shop clean as best as we can. It’s a lively way to make a living, and we enjoy the energy of being in the center of the market.
