Jannat

Jannat is our little spot on Pannadhai Marg in the Hathipole area. If you know this part of the city, you know it’s famous for the narrow streets and the constant flow of people looking for a bargain. Our shop isn't very large, but we try to make the most of the space we have. We spend a lot of time standing by the entrance, watching the crowds go by and waiting for someone to stop in. The street outside is always full of motorcycles and pedestrians, so it can get quite loud during the middle of the day. We don’t have a big team, just a couple of us who take turns looking after the place. It’s a lot of work keeping things tidy when people are constantly coming in and out. The walls are a bit scuffed and the ceiling is low, but it has a certain character that you only find in the older parts of town. We usually open up once the sun is up and stay until the street lights come on. There is always something happening on Pannadhai Marg, whether it’s a festival or just the usual daily rush. We don't do much in the way of advertising; people usually just find us while they are walking through the market. It’s a busy, cramped, and lively way to spend the day, and we wouldn't have it any other way.
