Lalit Laxmivilas Palace

This place, Lalit Laxmivilas Palace, is located right in Udaipur, Rajasthan. It's a big old building with a lot of history. Working here means seeing the same stone walls every day and looking out at the water. We mostly spend our time making sure the rooms are tidy and the gardens aren't getting too dry in the sun. It's a lot of walking because the halls are long and the ceilings are high. You get used to the echo after a while. Most of the people working here have been around for years. We know where the leaky pipes are and which windows stick when it rains. It’s a quiet life mostly, except when there are events or weddings. Then everyone is running around trying to get things set up in time. We don't really think of it as anything special, just a job that needs doing in a very old house. The dust gets everywhere because of the wind off the lake, so there is always someone with a cloth in their hand. We just keep the place running as best as we can without making a fuss. It’s an interesting spot to spend the day, even if the work is just the usual chores like fixing chairs or carrying bags up the stairs. We usually eat our lunch in the back area where it is a bit cooler during the afternoon heat. It is just another day at the palace.
