Hotel Apsara

Being right by the City Station Road means it’s always busy around here. We opened Hotel Apsara at Toran Bavri quite some time back to give people a place to rest after a long train ride. The dust from the road gets in sometimes, so we are always sweeping the front area. My brother and I run the place mostly. We have some rooms that are small and some that are a bit bigger for families. It’s not quiet like the countryside because the trains are always coming and going. You can hear the whistles if the window is open. We don't do anything fancy with the decor. It’s just paint and sturdy furniture that can handle a lot of use. People usually just stay for a night or two before moving on to see the lakes. We have a small kitchen area where we make basic meals. Nothing on the menu is complicated. It’s just what we eat ourselves. Sometimes the power goes out for a bit, but that’s just how it is in this part of town. We keep some candles and torches ready. Most of our guests are regulars who know where the light switches are better than I do. It’s a plain place, but it’s ours and we keep it running every day of the year. We don't have a lot of rules, just ask that people keep the noise down late at night so everyone can sleep.
