Awesome Institute Of Dance Music

Down here in Hiran Magri Sector-11, you can usually hear us before you see us. We are at 124-A on the Main Road. It’s a place where there is always some kind of noise, whether it’s a guitar being tuned or someone practicing their steps. We called it Awesome Institute Of Dance Music a long time ago and the name just stuck. It’s not a fancy conservatory with velvet curtains. It’s just a big open space with some mirrors and instruments. We have kids coming in after school and some adults who come by in the evenings after they finish work. The floor gets scuffed up from all the dancing, but that’s a good sign. We don't have a big front desk staff. Usually, one of the teachers will just wave you in. We aren't looking to produce world-famous stars, we just want people in Udaipur to have a place to learn a tune or a dance move. Sometimes the sessions get a bit chaotic when the younger kids are here, but it’s all in good fun. We spend a lot of time just repeating the same chords or the same footwork. It takes a lot of practice and we try to make it feel like a regular part of the day. The building is just a normal spot on the main road, nothing too special to look at from the outside, but inside it’s always lively with the sound of music.
