Our shop is a unisex salon and spa, so we see all kinds of people coming in for different reasons. Some want a quick haircut and others are looking for a bit of time in the spa to sit for a bit and relax. The building is just a regular spot on the road, and we’ve tried to make the inside comfortable enough for whoever walks in. We have different sections for the hair work and the spa treatments. It’s not a very loud or flashy place; we prefer to keep things simple and down-to-earth. We don’t use any marketing speak or big corporate words to describe ourselves. We just show up, get the towels and the tools ready, and start the day. There is usually some hair to sweep up and some laundry to do to keep everything fresh for the next person. Most of the people who come here are locals from Karamadai or the surrounding Hayden Valley area. We like the quiet rhythm of the neighborhood compared to the busy center of Coimbatore. We don’t have a mission or anything like that, we just want to do the work and make sure people get what they came for. At the end of the day, we lock up the front door and head home like everyone else in Thekkampatty.
