KV KNITS

KV KNITS is a small operation located at 1, Palaji Layout in the K.N.P. Pudur area. If you walk into our place, the first thing you’ll notice is the constant rhythmic sound of the knitting machines. We work with various types of yarn and fabric, turning them into garments or fabric rolls. The space is filled with big spools of thread in every color you can think of. It’s a bit cramped because we try to fit as many machines as possible into the layout. We have a few local workers from the neighborhood who have been with us for a long time. They know how to fix a snagged thread or a stuck needle without even thinking about it. The lighting is bright so we can see any tiny defects in the knitting. During the summer, it gets pretty hot inside with all the motors running, so we keep the windows open to catch whatever breeze comes through Palaji Layout. We aren't a massive garment factory; we are more of a local unit that handles smaller batches and specific orders. There’s always lint in the air and bits of thread on the floor, no matter how much we sweep. We start our shift early in the morning and usually wrap up by the evening when the light starts to fade. It’s steady work and we’ve been around Pudur long enough that people know who we are.
