Rupvishal Exports is located inside the Sakthi Rice Mill Compound in Andipalayam, just off Mangalam Road. Being inside a rice mill compound means there is always a layer of fine dust and the constant sound of machinery in the background. It’s a very industrial kind of place, but we’ve grown to like the atmosphere. Our small office is right in the middle of all the action. We handle export orders, mostly coordinating between the local producers and the shipping agents. It’s a lot of logistics and timing. Mangalam Road is notoriously busy, so we have to be careful about when we schedule our cargo movements or we’ll be stuck in traffic for hours. There are only four of us working here, so everyone ends up doing a bit of everything. One minute I’m on a call with a buyer, and the next I’m helping load a pallet because we’re short-handed. It’s not a polished environment. The desks are old and the filing cabinets are overflowing. We don't use any fancy business talk or have big presentations. We just get the work done as it comes in. Most of our day is spent checking quality and making sure the paperwork matches up. It’s a practical, no-nonsense kind of business. We’ve been here for a long time and we know how to handle the local challenges.
