Om Sakthi Building Materials & Suppliers

We are set up at number 15 on the Tenkasi Main Road in Melapuliyur. Being on the main road means there is always noise from the buses and lorries passing by. This place is Om Sakthi Building Materials & Suppliers, though most people just say Om Sakthi when they come in. We have piles of stuff everywhere because building supplies take up a lot of room. There is sand, bricks, and bags of cement stacked up high. It is a dirty job and our clothes usually show it by the end of the day. We spend most of our time loading and unloading trucks. The sun gets really hot on this stretch of road in Melapuliyur so we try to do the heavy lifting in the morning. It is not a corporate environment at all. We sit on plastic chairs and use a simple wooden desk for the accounts. Sometimes the phone rings off the hook and other times we just sit and watch the traffic. We get all sorts of customers, from big contractors to people just fixing a small wall at home. We do not have a glossy brochure or anything. People come to us because we are right here on the road and they see what we have. It is just a basic supply yard and we try to keep enough stock so people do not leave empty-handed. We have been here at this spot for years and it suits us fine.
