International (Viswam) Crane Simulator Training India Private Limited is based out of Cresent Nagar in Palayamkottai. We are at No.8, which is easy enough to find if you know the area. Our work is pretty specific because it involves crane simulators. It’s not something you see every day on a regular street. We have these setups where people can sit down and learn how to handle heavy machinery without actually being on a construction site. It's a bit of a different environment than a normal office. There are screens and controls and a lot of technical stuff lying around. We spend a lot of time showing folks which buttons to push and how to move the levers correctly. Palayamkottai is a nice enough place to work from. It gets quite hot in the afternoons, so we keep the fans going all the time. The students who come here are usually looking to get a job in construction or shipping, so they are pretty serious about getting the practice right. We don't do much talking about big goals or anything. We just focus on whether someone can move the virtual crane arm without hitting anything. It’s a lot of repetitive practice, really. We’ve been at this for a while and the machines need maintenance every now and then. We just keep things running and make sure the door is open for the next group that comes through.
