Classic Marble

We’ve been running Classic Marble at 38, Main Road in Alagiapandiapuram for quite some time now. It’s a very straightforward business. We have the stone, and people come to buy it for their houses. The shop is right on the main road, so it’s easy for anyone to spot us. The weather here can get quite warm, which makes working with heavy stone a bit of a challenge. We don't have any air conditioning in the yard, just the open air and some fans in the office. We prefer it that way because you can see the colors of the marble better in the natural light. We aren't interested in using big words or trying to sound like a huge corporation. We’re just a local shop. Every slab we have has its own unique patterns and little flaws that make it real. We spend a lot of time cleaning the dust off the pieces so customers can see what the grain looks like. It's a never-ending job because the road outside brings in more dust every time a truck passes. We don't have a mission statement or any fancy goals. We just want to sell our marble and make enough to keep the lights on. Most of our customers are local people who are building their own homes.
