Arunachi Amman Bricks

You can find us at 52, Singarathope, right in the Tharanallur area. It’s a busy place with a lot of people moving around, but we’ve got our little corner for the bricks. We started Arunachi Amman Bricks because we knew how to work the local clay. It is mostly just about keeping the rhythm going. We wake up early to beat the heat, though in Tharanallur, it feels like it’s always hot. The yard stays dusty, and there is always something that needs moving from one side to the other. We don’t have a website or any of those modern things. If someone needs bricks, they usually just show up at the gate or call someone who knows us. We’ve got stacks of them lined up, waiting for whoever needs them for their own walls or houses. It’s honest work, even if it’s tiring on the legs. Sometimes the neighbors complain about the noise, but we try to keep it down during the off hours. There are days when the kilns don't behave, and we have to spend all afternoon fixing things. That is just part of the business. We don't make any big promises, we just show people what we have available in the yard at number 52. It’s been our home for a long time and we know every inch of this ground. We just keep our heads down and focus on making sure the bricks are dry and ready to go.
