Vinayaka Coffee & Tea

Our small shop is in the Chalai area of Thiruvananthapuram. If you have ever walked through the market here, you know how busy it gets with all the vendors and people shopping for their daily needs. We are right in the middle of all that action. It is mostly about coffee and tea for us. The smell of boiling milk and tea leaves is something we are used to from early morning until we close up at night. The space is quite small, so people often just stand around or find a quick spot to sit for a minute before getting back to their errands. Chalai is an old part of the city, and our building shows its age, but it has a certain character that we like. We don't use any fancy machines; it's all done the traditional way with basic pots and filters. The weather here is usually hot, so a lot of people come in for a quick break from the sun. We know most of the other shopkeepers around here, and they often send their boys over for a tray of tea. It is a humble way to earn a living, but it keeps us connected to the community. We don't have a big menu or anything complicated. It is just the basics done the way we have always done them. People seem to appreciate that we stay consistent day after day and provide a little bit of comfort in the market.
