Brothers Cafe

We've been here at Kumarapuram for a while now. The cafe is right on the Medical College Road, which stays busy pretty much all day and night because of the hospital nearby. It's just a small spot, nothing too fancy, run by a few of us who grew up in Thiruvananthapuram. Most of the people coming in are doctors, students, or folks visiting family at the Medical College. We start early in the morning to get things ready before the first rush of patients and staff. The address is No Tc 1/1606, and if you know the area, it's easy to find once you get past the main P.O. It gets a bit crowded during lunch hours, especially when the heat is up outside. We just focus on keeping things simple. Sometimes the chairs are full and people have to wait a minute, but that is just how it goes on this street. It isn't a huge place, but we make it work. The weather here in Kerala can be unpredictable, so the roof helps when those sudden rains start. We spend most of our time behind the counter or checking on the tables. It is mostly regular faces we see every day, which makes the work feel more like a routine. We don't have a big team, just enough of us to keep the doors open and the food moving. It's a decent spot for a quick break if you are stuck at the hospital for hours.
