Lidstone Foods

Lidstone Foods is based at A-23 in Lakshmi Nagar, which is part of the Kesavadasapuram area here in Thiruvananthapuram. It’s a residential-style street, so it feels more like a home than a big industrial plant. We’ve set things up so we can handle our food business without disturbing the neighbors too much. There’s usually the smell of whatever we’re working on drifting through the air, which isn’t a bad thing. We start the day by checking the stock and making sure everything is stored exactly how it should be. The kitchen area is where most of the action happens, and it stays pretty busy until late in the afternoon. We have a small group of people who have been with us for a while, so we all know who is supposed to be doing what. Sometimes we have to move stuff around to make room for a new shipment, and things can get a bit tight in the hallway. We don’t have a big flashy storefront. People who know us just come to the gate. It’s a very local way of doing things. We spend a lot of time cleaning up after ourselves because when you work with food, you can’t really cut corners on that. It’s a simple life, focused on getting the orders ready and sent out to the shops. We like being in this part of town because it’s familiar and the people are friendly. It's just a regular local business.
