Out here at Survey No 202/4 in Koloor, things are a bit quieter than in the city center. We have quite a bit of space because timber needs room to be moved and stored properly. When you walk into Jr Timber Technics, the first thing you notice is usually the smell of wood. It stays on your clothes even after you go home. We spend a lot of time outside in the yard checking the stock and talking to the drivers. It’s not a desk job for most of us. We have a small office building on the site where we keep the records and handle the bills. It’s a practical setup. We don't see the point in having a polished showroom when the real work happens in the back. Koloor is a good spot for us because we can get the trucks in and out without too much trouble. Sometimes the weather gets in the way, especially when it's damp, but we manage the piles. We’ve been working with timber for a long time, so we know the difference between a good piece and a bad one just by looking at it. It's a bit of a dusty life, and our boots are always dirty. But there’s something satisfying about seeing the raw material come in and then seeing it go out to a customer. We don't use big words to describe what we do. We just handle wood and try to be fair with everyone.
