Gij

Gij is run out of Thazhmon House in the Puthenchantha area of Varkala. It’s a quiet spot, which is nice for getting work done without too much distraction. We’re near the post office, so that makes things easy when we have to send stuff out. The house has been here for a long time, and we’ve set up our workspace in one of the main rooms. It’s not your typical office building with glass walls. It’s got a bit more character than that, even if the paint is peeling in a few spots. We spend our days answering calls and filing papers. Sometimes the internet goes out when it rains heavily, which happens a lot around here in Kerala. When that happens, we just take a break and wait for it to come back. There’s no rush to be some giant company. We just want to do a decent job for the people who come to us. Most of the people we deal with are locals who know where to find us. We don't spend money on big ads or anything like that. Word travels fast enough in a place like Varkala. We usually have the windows open to let in the breeze, though it gets a bit dusty from the road. There is a small garden out front that we try to keep alive, but the sun is pretty harsh. It’s just a simple, honest way to make a living for us here.
