Athul Metalinks

Athul Metalinks is situated right at the Hospital Junction on Railway Station Road in Neyyattinkara. It is a very busy corner of the world, with people constantly rushing between the hospital and the trains. Our shop is small and packed to the ceiling with metal links and various hardware items. We don't have a lot of floor space, so we have to be careful not to trip over the crates of stock. The sound of the traffic outside is always there, mixed with the occasional whistle from a departing train. We have been in this spot for quite a while, and we know most of the people who walk past our door every morning. The work is mostly about keeping track of inventory and helping customers find the right piece of metal for whatever they are building. It gets quite warm in the afternoons when the sun hits the front of the building, so we usually have a small fan humming on the counter. We don't use any fancy computer systems to track our parts; we mostly just know where everything is by heart. It is a simple, local business where we talk to our customers face-to-face. We don't have a mission statement or anything like that. We just open up early, sell our metal, and close up when the sun goes down. It is just how things work for us in Neyyattinkara.
