Viswa Shanthi Vidyalaya Matric School

We are up here in the Nilgiris, specifically in the Kairbetta Hoshatty area near the Kotagiri post. Being a matriculation school in the hills means things move a bit differently than they do in the big cities. The mornings are usually quite foggy and the air is always cool, which is nice for the students and the teachers. We have been here for a good while now. Our building is a simple one, nothing too fancy, just a place where the kids from the surrounding villages come to learn their lessons. We spend a lot of time making sure the classrooms are ready and the grounds are kept up. It is a small team of us running the place. We know most of the parents by their names because everyone lives close by. Sometimes the mountain roads get a bit messy when it rains heavily, but we just manage it as it comes. We aren't trying to be some big corporate institution. It is just a local school doing the daily work of teaching. We have old wooden desks and blackboards that have seen many years of use. You can hear the sounds of the tea plantations nearby when it is quiet. We just focus on the books and the exams and making sure the kids have a decent place to be during the day. It is a lot of hard work but it is a good life here in the hills.
