K.C. Paul & Sons

K.C. Paul & Sons has its home at 254/B Chittaranjan Avenue. This place has been around for generations, and you can really feel that history when you walk inside. The ceilings are high and the wooden shelves are dark with age and filled with all sorts of things. Outside, the avenue is one of the busiest spots in the city, with trams and cars and people everywhere. Inside the shop, it is much quieter, though we still have a lot of work to do. We deal with traditional items, and a lot of the work is done by hand using tools that have been passed down to us. We do not use much modern technology here. My desk is covered in old papers and a heavy iron paperweight. We spend our days talking to customers who remember coming here with their parents. It makes the work feel important, even if it is just a small shop on a big road. Sometimes we have to deal with the dampness during the rainy season, which is always a struggle in these old buildings. We do not have a marketing department or anything like that. We just open the shutters every morning and see who walks in. It is a bit cluttered and there is some dust in the corners, but it is a place where real work happens every single day.
