Wood Island

If you look for us, you’ll find Wood Island inside the Ferrous Metals Compound. We are situated near the Icem Engg. Co., which is a good landmark if you are coming down Raghunath Nagar. The turn is off Mohanji Sunderji Road, and it can be easy to miss if you aren't paying attention to the signs. The compound itself is a mix of different businesses, so there is always some kind of activity happening nearby. At Wood Island, we spend our hours surrounded by stacks of planks and the various tools we need for our work. It is a practical space, mostly just high ceilings and concrete floors. We don't have a lot of fancy office furniture; we mostly just have the stuff we use to build things. The air in Raghunath Nagar feels different depending on the season, but inside the shop, the work stays steady. We handle the wood ourselves, moving pieces from one side of the room to the other as projects move along. It’s physical work, and by the end of the day, everyone is usually ready to head home. We’ve been at this location for a while, so we know the other guys in the compound pretty well. It’s a quiet enough spot once you get off the main road. We don't do much in the way of advertising; we just stay here and do what we know how to do with the wood.
