V. M. Containers Pvt. Ltd. is tucked away in the Mahape area, specifically at Plot A-418 in the TTC MIDC. If you know this part of Navi Mumbai, you know it is all factories and workshops. We make containers here. The floor is usually covered in dust and scraps because that’s just how the work goes. We have a few big machines that take up most of the space. It gets quite loud when everything is running at once. Most of the guys have been here for years. We eat lunch together in the small break room or sometimes just out by the gate if the weather is okay. We don't have a big fancy sign out front, just the address painted on the wall. The traffic in Mahape can be a nightmare in the evenings, so we try to get the trucks loaded early. Dealing with plastic and metal all day is hard work, but we are used to it. The office is upstairs, but mostly we are down on the floor seeing what’s happening. We aren't trying to be the biggest company around. We just want to make sure the containers we send out are solid and do what they are supposed to do. It’s a simple operation really. No one wears suits here. We wear what's practical for the job. Sometimes we stay late when a big order needs to go out.
