You can find Uma Engineering Company at D-48 inside the Amar Gian Services And Complex. It sits right on L.B.S. Marg in the Khopat area. If you’ve ever driven down L.B.S. Marg, you know how busy it gets with all the traffic and noise. Being in the Amar Gian complex means we are around a lot of other small businesses. Our space is filled with tools, metal bits, and the smell of oil. It’s an engineering shop, so it’s never going to be perfectly clean, no matter how much we sweep. We spend the day working on various parts and fixing things that people bring in. It takes a lot of patience to get the measurements right. We’ve been in Khopat for a long time, and we’ve seen the neighborhood grow around us. The complex itself is a bit of a maze if you aren't used to it, but we like our corner. Most of our day is spent at the machines or checking over drawings at the main table. It’s hard work, but it’s what we know how to do. There isn't any fancy talk here, just plain English about what needs to be built next. We grab tea from the stall downstairs and keep the machines running until it’s time to close up the shutters.
