The Joshi Kitchen

If you head down Junnar Maninagar Cross Road, you will find us in the Sai Krupa Apartments. We are over at Plot No 225 in Yashwant Nagar. The Joshi Kitchen started because we just liked to cook and people in the building started asking for meals. It is a small setup, right in the middle of a residential area, so it feels very much like a home. The kitchen gets quite warm around lunchtime when all the burners are going at once. We usually have pots of dal simmering and the smell of fresh rotis fills up the hallway of the apartment block. It is a bit cramped sometimes when we have a lot of orders to pack, but we manage by staying organized. Maninagar is a nice place to be, and the neighbors are all friendly, often stopping by just to say hello or see what is on the menu for the day. We don't have a big dining hall or waiters. It is mostly just us preparing food and people coming to pick it up or having it sent out nearby. We use local ingredients we get from the market down the road. Sometimes the spices make everyone sneeze, but that is just part of the daily grind. It is an honest way to earn a living, and we enjoy being part of the Yashwant Nagar community. The stove stays hot from early morning until we finish the dinner rush.
