Out here in MIDC Phase II in Dombivili, the air usually smells like sugar or vanilla depending on what we are making that day. Our factory at D-45 is where everything happens. It’s a big space in Village Sagaon, and it stays quite busy from the early morning shift until late. We make different kinds of sweets and snacks. It involves a lot of big pots, constant stirring, and watching the temperature carefully. If the heat is off even by a little bit, the whole batch can go wrong, so the workers have to be very careful. We aren't some massive corporation with robots; it is mostly people handling the packaging and checking the quality by hand. The floors are always being washed because things get sticky pretty fast in a confectionery business. We have a small group of people in the office who handle the distribution side of things. Manpada Road is always jammed with traffic, so getting our delivery vans out on time is sometimes a struggle. We’ve been in this spot for a while now, and everyone in the area knows our building. We don't really do much in the way of fancy branding or slogans. We just focus on making sure the candy tastes right and is packed properly. During the holiday seasons, the place is absolutely packed with ingredients and finished boxes. We usually end up working late into the night during those months. It is a lot of hard work, but we are used to the pace.
