Sri Ram Stores

Sri Ram Stores is located right at Shop No. 1 in Marwari Patty. We are very close to the railway station, so we hear the trains coming and going all day long. It is a busy little corner here in Thakurwadi. The shop isn't very big, but we try to keep it packed with everything people might need. We open early in the morning when the first commuters are heading to the station and we stay open until quite late in the evening. It is a family-run kind of thing, so there is usually one of us behind the counter at all times. We know most of the people who walk through the door by their first names. The shelves are a bit crowded and sometimes it takes us a minute to find exactly what someone is looking for, but we usually have it somewhere in the back. We do not have a computer system for the inventory or anything like that; we just know what we have in stock by looking at the walls. It gets quite hot in the summer with the sun hitting the front of the shop, but we have a small fan that keeps us going. We spend a lot of time talking to the neighbors and the people passing through. It is a simple life of selling goods and keeping the shop tidy. We do not do any big advertising. People just know we are here by the station and they stop by when they need something on their way home.
