Reliance Retail Ltd has its present address at 601, C Wing in Varsha Prakruti Park. This is in Azad Nagar, Thane West. Living and working in Thane means dealing with the constant commute and the rainy weather that seems to last forever. Our office is on the sixth floor of the C wing. It’s a pretty standard residential-cum-commercial building setup. From the window, we can see other tall buildings and a bit of the greenery that’s left in Azad Nagar. The space inside is quite filled up with boxes and old chairs. We aren't really concerned with how the place looks to outsiders because we don't get many visitors anyway. It’s mostly just us and the delivery guys. We spend a lot of time on the phone or typing away at our computers. The air is often heavy with moisture, especially during the monsoon, so things can feel a bit damp inside. We have a small corner where we keep the water cooler and a few snacks. It’s a simple life here. We know the people in the building and the guys at the gate. We don't have any big corporate slogans on the walls. It’s just a place where we come to do our jobs and earn a living. Once the day is over, we lock up the C wing office and join the crowd heading back to the station or their homes nearby. We just focus on getting the daily paperwork filed and the orders checked.
