Venkatalakshmi Stores

Our shop is tucked away in Ravi Compd, right across from where the automobiles are. It has been Venkatalakshmi Stores for a long time. The space is a bit cramped because we try to stock everything people ask for. Sometimes boxes are stacked a bit high, and you have to move one to get to the other. It is just how things go in a small store. We open early in the morning, usually before the traffic gets bad on the main road. Most of our customers are from around here, so we know their faces. It isn't a supermarket with bright lights or music. We have the usual stuff people need for their houses. Sometimes the delivery truck comes late and things get a bit messy near the entrance. We try to keep things organized, but it is a lot of work for a few people. The fans hum all day long to keep the place cool. We do not do much fancy stuff here. You come in, get what you need, and that is it. Often, we are busy counting change or checking the lists of items we need to order. It gets a bit noisy when the garage across the way starts working on engines. But you stop noticing it after an hour or so. It is a regular life for us here in the compound. Nothing too special, just a local shop trying to keep the shelves full for the neighborhood.
