Shubham Provision Stores

Our little shop is right here in Chavand, and honestly, everyone in the village pretty much knows where we are. It’s not a big place, just Shubham Provision Stores, but it stays busy enough for us. We spend most of our time making sure we have enough flour, oil, and sugar because that’s what people need the most. Sometimes the truck from the city takes longer than it should to get here, so we have to tell people to come back the next day. It’s just a part of living out here. We open up early because the farmers are already out and about. We see the same people every single morning, and we usually know what they want before they even ask. It’s a lot of work lifting the heavy sacks and keeping everything clean, especially when it gets dusty outside. The kids come in for sweets after school, and that’s always the loudest part of the day. The dust in Chavand can be really something when the wind picks up, so I'm always dusting off the jars of pickles and the bags of snacks. We have a small stool in the corner where the older men sometimes sit and talk about the weather or the crops for a bit too long while I'm trying to sweep. It's fine though, it makes the day go by faster. We keep a ledger for the regulars who pay at the end of the month. It’s not high-tech, but it’s been working for a long time.
